Ted McCoy - architect

Dunedin’s architectural heritage owes much to the distinguished career of the passionate and professional Ted McCoy.

As the creative vision behind the most recent redevelopment of the Otago Museum, it is only fitting that an exhibition commemorating the work, accomplishments and inspirations of one of New Zealand’s most celebrated architects should take place in the People of the World Gallery, flowing seamlessly from Ted’s magnificent Atrium.

Ted McCoy – architect offers a selection of Ted’s own favourite projects coupled with a number of superb photographs of Victorian Dunedin, originally exhibited at the Museum in 1968.

Synonymous with Dunedin architecture, McCoy has been the driving force behind some of our region’s most iconic buildings. The exhibition provides an opportunity for visitors to be introduced to the man, his extraordinary achievements, and the motivations behind it all.
