The Otago Museum and Discovery World offer endless opportunities for your students to engage in fun and exciting educational activities!
From sleepovers to celebrating the Indian Holi festival, from our portable planetarium to classroom activities - the options go on and on…!
Check out the opportunities below:
- Education Programmes - bring a school class or group to Otago Museum and Discovery World and have fun while learning with our unique curriculum-based programmes!
- Downloadable Classroom Activities - enhance the enjoyment and learning experience of your students' visit to the Museum with our activities designed for the classroom.
Our education programmes are based in our amazing galleries, offering a unique and relevant environment and a chance for students to engage with real artefacts and specimens. Workshop programmes use Discovery Pad - our specially designed and equipped teaching area, to give your class the hands-on experiences they need to help them learn and understand.
There's also a purpose built computer lab fitted with 10 high performance computers available to you - whether it's learning computer skills, software skills or surfing the Internet!
And, if you can't fit all these activities into one day - you can always stay overnight! That's right - have your class or group sleep over in Discovery World! This is an extremely popular activity with both children and adults! It's an evening full of fun, excitement and laughter with programmed activities and plenty of time to explore Discovery World, plus, dinner and breakfast are included!
Check out our 2012 Wallplanner to see what we've got on offer, then contact our Education Team for more details. Alternatively, fill out our Inquiry Planner and send it to us so that we can match our programmes to your topic focus!
