A stroll through the 100-year-old trees of the Otago Museum Reserve leads you to the Museum Café, situated within the Museum itself.
Calm, spacious and furnished with rimu café chairs and tables to accommodate 90 people, the Museum Café attracts a diverse range of customers, from Museum visitors to University of Otago faculty and students.
We offer a great variety of healthy filled breads; smoked salmon, horseradish & caper salad bagels, brie & asparagus aoili salad knots, local farmhouse cheese, homemade relish, sun dried tomato, artichoke & pesto salad… just to name a few. There is also a choice of grilled paninis and a blackboard menu offers the day’s hearty soups with foccacia, fresh pasta with sauce and salads. Children can choose from their special menu during the weekends and school holidays. Our coffee is famous too!
The Museum Café is licensed, making it the perfect venue to relax in the conservatory or at an outdoor table with a glass of New Zealand wine or locally brewed beer. |
